About Me

Why a Copywriter?

I romantically believe copy is ‘in my blood’…

You see, my Dad was a Fleet Street (London) journalist, and later a top PR guy. He was crazy obsessive about words and using the right one for the occasion.

And bizarrely, I share that passion!

It all kicked off for me just like in the movies.

You know the scene… hero rounds the corner, bumps into a complete stranger, lives are never the same etc. etc.

Well, I ‘bumped’ into copywriting while creating a website for a project I was working on.

I’d spend hours perfecting that website copy,

making sure every word was spot on. And it slowly dawned on me…

(like the hero in the movie realizing the ‘love of their life’ really was standing right there in front of them)

… that the writing was way more interesting to me than the project itself.

So, I trained in content marketing, wrote for clients and was shocked by the success I had!

Copywriting (and what it really takes)

But it was copy that was crawling under my skin!

And I wanted to be where the other crazy fanatical ‘words people’ thrive, in that special land called Copy.

So, I trained more (and more, and more) –– you don’t get to be good at this without a LOT of hard work!

I still train daily, study great ads and copy, read endlessly (you could say obsessively), study, practice.

Oh, and of course, I work, writing for clients who benefit from my zealous love for words, all things copy…

and the fact that I’m a perfectionist!

This Is Me...

I live by the sea in beautiful Tynemouth, on the north-east coast of England,

in what has become my favourite place ever, with my husband and two surfing teens.

Along the way, I’ve recovered from horrible health challenges (and grown grit determination)…

Home-educated my kids and made amazing friends,

started businesses (some worked, some didn’t),

moved gradually up the country (from the bottom to the top),

And discovered how everything came together for me, writing copy!
